Today's topic is a multi-aspect question that I'm posing to you, the reader, as well as our men of What He Says. Looking forward to 2013, what are your hopes, goals, visions for yourself, and the world around you in the coming year?
Thorny Sterling:
I think most of my hopes for 2013 are political and all about LGBT rights. I want Obama to keep making history and I want to be part of it. I don’t really keep up on politics much because the local stuff usually just breaks me, but that’s my jist of hope for 2013. Personal goals include running a half-marathon, finishing my first full-length m/m romance story, keeping my blog amazing, and continuing my education. I think it’ll be a good year. :)
Edmond Manning:
I want to be softer and gentler with people next year, not so damn instantly opinionated. I need to make better boundaries and ask for what I want. In seeming contradiction to that, I want to demand less of others and quit expecting the world to bow to me less often. I need to eat less crap food, meditate more, exercise, more and choose gratitude over churlishness. I want to wear my gorilla suit more. My birthday suit more. My hope for 2013 in the world is that we start changing individual habits that are leading us to environmental destruction. I think we’re hovering on the edge of disaster and ignoring our individual contribution to that disaster.
Charles Edward:
For me personally, I want to be wiser about how I spend money, to try kayaking, and to learn to play drums. I’d like to find a less-evil day job. For the larger community, I hope the Supreme Court makes just the right decisions to establish marriage equality throughout the country.
